Last night Lorie and I attended the monthly Chamber of Commerce meeting. It was great to see so many businesses attend and the enthusiasm was definitely contagious.

We met the new owner of the Primrose Cottage, Cat Cronin. (Welcome to town!) It was also nice to see some old friends like Bernie Haas (capemay.com and Cape May Magazine), Jack Wright (Exit Zero), Susan Babineau-Roberts (The Mission Inn) and Laurie Johnson (Oma's Dollhouse.)

Some exciting things are in the works here in Cape May. Tonight is the first-ever "Movies on the Beach" sponsored by the Chamber. Tonight's feature is Steven Spielberg's "Hook", which is a great film for the entire family. Movies will be shown directly behind Convention Hall on the beach. (The weather isn't looking very good and I believe the rain date is tomorrow night.)

Jack Fichter from the Herald reported on the upcoming showing of John Lennon artwork, July 20 - 23. For more information click here.

A report was given on the Meter Angels (see yesterday's blog entry). Seems like the Angels are just the shot in the arm Cape May needs. Sort of Ambassadors-at-large the Angels have received converage in the local media, offsetting some of the more negative stories from earlier this summer. (The Memorial Day Weekend Seatbelt Ambush.) Financial backing from businesses around town has been terrific. Now we just need some more volunteers to "feed the meters."

Before I sign off, I just wanted to thank Lucky Bones for hosting the meeting. The food they provided was terrific. Kudos to owner David Craig and the entire staff.

Just a quick note to tell you how much we loved our vist at the Angel last week. We dropped in at the last minute and were lucky enough to get your last room. We will be back!! Everyone was so nice and we loved the afternoon tea and the wonderful atmosphere! One thing I would suggest since we were the ones responsible for the sorry sign and the ladies were so happy to put out the sorry sign, maybe " reward" that guest with a small token.
We have already told everyone about your inn and hope to be back soon!
      Thank you so much
